Business as "usual" for East Georgia FCA

Mary Moon • Mar 17, 2020

I recently shared a pic on Facebook that asked, "Has anyone tried unplugging 2020 and plugging it back in?" We have certainly seen a crazy start to 2020 across our region and world!

In the past week alone, our coaches and athletes, along with the rest of our country, have woken up to major changes. I'm sure you understand the feeling of decisions being made that impact you that you have no control over. Our athletes and coaches are no different.

To name just a few...our Seniors are dealing with an unexpected and abrupt end to their athletic career. Our Coaches poured countless hours and resources into their seasons only to have things change in the blink of an eye. Their normal day-to-day interaction with their teammates, classmates, faculty, and community, much like yours, changed overnight.

Several of you have asked, in light of recent campus and community closings and sports seasons ending, "What are y'all going to do?"

We are going to keep fulfilling our calling! We are called to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. People around us are hurting and concerned, and we are help to help however we can.

The best way to see what we are up to lately? Check out our Facebook page (click here). We started an online Bible Study for our Female Coaches, where we daily gather around a virtual table. We are supporting our local school systems and communities, asking how we can provide for those in need. We are asking for your prayers for local requests shared with us. We are still preparing for our FCA Camps that we hope will start in June. And at least one of our FCA Missionaries is preparing to welcome a new baby girl in just a few short weeks :)

Long story short, FCA Ministry will not stop even though the world around us has taken a bit of a pause.

Your generosity through your gifts to FCA is truly appreciated, yesterday, today, and in the days to come.  Please know - we continually pray for you, your families, your businesses, your ministries and churches, and our world. You matter to us and we would love to know how we can specifically pray for you! (click here)

God has given us a mission. Through His favor and your partnerships, we will continue to impact the world for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

Finally...in a Coaches Huddle last week, Hebrews 13:8 was in our reading..."Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." No matter what is happening around us, we serve the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the one who is, who always was, and who is STILL TO COME.  Take heart, for HE has overcome the world!

If we can serve you, your community, or business, please do not hesitate to reach out to us! God bless you!

Trusting in Him ALONE,
