Meet Michael Sapp of Glennville, GA!

EGAFCA: "Michael, what's your role with East Georgia FCA?"

Michael:  "I currently serve as an FCA Character Coach for the Baseball, Softball, Tennis, and Soccer Teams at Tattnall County High School."

E:  "How long have you been served in this role as an FCA Character Coach?"

M:  "Since 2016!"

E: " What's your occupation?"

M: "I am the Youth, Student, & Associate Pastor of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church in Glennville, GA."

E: " What are a few of your favorite things? Food, restaurants, Bible verses?"

M:  "This is easy. Humanly speaking, the greatest combination known to mankind is peanut butter & chocolate, so without a doubt, my go to snack is a Reese's Cup & a Mountain Dew. I like Texas Roadhouse. I love all Scripture, but some of my favorite verses are Isaiah 26:3 & Proverbs 3:5-6."

E:  "What's a fun fact about you that people probably don't know?

M:  "I once got a major concussion while Ice Fishing in South Dakota (maybe I was goofing off and not fishing as much- lol)."

E:  "What is the most exciting way you see God working through the FCA Character Coach role?"

M: “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.  I have always strived in ministry to make things about relationships - the Christian life is about a personal relationship with Christ."

"When I first started serving through FCA, I was all about the student athletes, how I could share the Gospel and encouragement into their lives. But I begin to realize that as much as God had placed me here to pour into the students lives,  He was opening the door for me to build relationships with the Coaches and to pour into their lives as well. If you think about it, sometimes the people who need us the most are the Coaches.   They are giving so much of their time, energy, and effort to pour into the lives of their players. Billy Graham once said, 'A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.' If we are pouring the right things into the Coaches who are in turn pouring intoa the players, the impact will be magnified far beyond the reach of just one person."

We are so thankful for our Minsitry Partners and Volunteers! If you would like more information about serving as an FCA Character Coach, please contact East Georgia FCA at  mmoon@fca.org !

I recently shared a pic on Facebook that asked, "Has anyone tried unplugging 2020 and plugging it back in?" We have certainly seen a crazy start to 2020 across our region and world! In the past week alone, our coaches and athletes, along with the rest of our country, have woken up to major changes. I'm sure you understand the feeling of decisions being made that impact you that you have no control over. Our athletes and coaches are no different. To name just a few...our Seniors...
