Let's Hear It From An FCA Leader!!

On the campus, the FCA leadership team is extremely vital in reaching coaches and athletes with the Gospel. One in particular who takes on the role of being a disciple while still discipling others very well is Rena McKenzie. She has been involved with the East Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 6 years now because she feels that it is one of the few organizations that is truly Christ-centered and is so much fun! When we asked her why she loved FCA, she responded by simply stating, "FCA creates relationships for people you might not otherwise know to help encourage you in your walk with Christ, and its' mission focus fulfills the Great Commission!"

Rena is currently involved in Competitive Cheerleading as well as Tennis. Being a part of FCA's leadership team opens many opportunities for her to speak life into her teammates on and off the field. "Some teammates who may have never heard the Gospel or seen the love of Christ in action can witness it through FCA. This organization has given me the privilege to speak in front of big crowds, lead by example, and create activities to lead others to Jesus," Rena stated when asked how being a part of FCA helps her to  make a bigger impact on her sports teams.

Just like every thing in life, there are always going to be pros and cons. As for Rena, she says that the most challenging thing about being an FCA leader is doing things that are outside of her comfort zone, such as speaking in front of large crowds. With that being said, the reward is far greater because she has been able to meet new people and foster new relationships in the process of stepping outside of her comfort zone.

Are you thinking about joining FCA? Wise words from Rena are, "JUST DO IT!! You will meet new people, do new things, and love people like you never thought was possible!"

All For His Glory
