We closed out 2012 with our first annual South Georgia FCA Winter Recharge.  The event was held at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island where 50 student athletes were in attendance. The goal for Winter Recharge was just that to recharge by encouraging, challenging, equipping, and inspiring student athletes to continue using the tool of FCA to take Christ to their campus during the second half of the school year. To quote one of the adults in attendance and a mom whose daughter attended:

“I know this, the Gospel was shared in a powerful way and some rich wisdom was provided to young leaders with great potential to reach their campuses.” Josh

“This was my daughter’s first experience with an FCA camp and in my daughter’s words: this was life changing and I will be a part of more FCA Camps in the future.” Mom

On February 26th we will be hosting our 6th annual fundraising banquet. This banquet is vital to sustaining the ministry of FCA in our area because it currently helps fund a large portion of our budget.  Funding from the banquet is accomplished in two ways: 1. Banquet Sponsors – who under right the banquet and some ministry needs 2. New Home Team Members – this is the key to the long term sustainability of the ministry.

The “Home Team” is a group of individuals, business, and churches who give prayer and financial support to the local FCA Staff on a regular basis (preferably monthly.)  100% of the money goes to pay the ongoing ministry expenses our staff. The Home Team eliminates the need for crisis fundraising and allows the staff to be involved in more direct ministry and less fundraising.

We know that some our current Home Team members have enjoyed coming to the banquet in the past. Herein lies the challenge. How do we get potential new Home Team members to hear what God has done and is doing through the ministry of FCA.  Here is how you can help us meet this challenge.  If you are invited to attend the banquet please make it your goal to bring someone with you that you think needs to hear the story of FCA.

If you are receiving this newsletter, chances are you are one of those Home Team members that allows East GA FCA to continue to impact coaches and athletes for Christ.  Your partnership is greatly appreciated!

Check our several other state cnoefrences to establish why NHAD\'s conference admission fees are among the lowest in the nation. Last time I checked, Calif. charged $150.00 combo with no a la carte items. I wouldn\'t be concerned about $40.00 or even $50.00 combo prices. With sponsorships, the conference can have more exciting speakers and events. As we all know in the past, Hearing speakers generally are party poopers , even if they are good advocates of the deaf community. Deaf people would prefer to pay to see deaf performers and speakers.
