Have you ever considered taking the week off to enjoy an FCA camp? Personally, I have grown in my faith on and off the field over the past three years by attending FCA Golf Camp and Winter Recharge. These camps give you the opportunity to meet new friends, grow closer to God, and understand what it means to be an athlete for Christ on and off the field. I walked away from camp understanding that my stats, physical abilities, nor my multiple State Championship titles is what defines who I am as an individual. God has blessed me with a talent that he intended for me to use in a way that glorifies Him. He doesn't care how many tangible items I have received, like trophies, medals, or even awards. He cares that I give my absolute best to whatever ability He has blessed me with and from that blessings shall flow. Those blessings may not always be wins, they can come in all kinds of forms such as forming relationships, growing spiritually or mentally, finding yourself, and/or watching another person succeed because YOU encouraged them when they felt down.
Please pray over possibly attending an FCA camp this summer! Nothing is more refreshing than spending a full week completely immersed in God's word and playing the sport that God has blessed you to compete in. The friendships I have formed throughout these camps have carried on way beyond just one week out of the summer. We see each other during competitive events, stay in contact through social media, and plan trips to see one another outside of sports. Those friendships are ones that I will cherish for forever!
