What does FCA do during the Summer?
The school sporting year is coming to
an end and summer is just around the corner. This means that FCA is gearing up
for summer camps. FCA camps are a time of “inspiration and perspiration.” There
are several types of camps that FCA puts on: individual sport camps, team
camps, leadership camps, and coaches camps. At our team and individual camps,
athletes get instruction on becoming better at their sport and inspiration to
become a competitor for Christ. FCA leadership camp challenges and equips
athletes to become the Christ-like leader on their campus that God wants them
to be. Our coaches camps provide an opportunity for coaches and their families
to be refreshed and renewed in their spiritual lives.
What is going on with East GA FCA this Summer?
This summer East GA FCA will be hosting
two FCA Team Softball camp at Georgia Southern University. We will also be a
major part of two high school FCA Team Football camp at Georgia Southern and an
FCA coaches camp on St. Simons Island.
Camps have the potential to be a high water mark in the life of an
athlete or coach. The spiritual impact of a camp has the potential to not only
change a coach or athlete, but all whom they influence. Believing this, East GA
FCA is committed to help get as many coaches and athletes to camp as we can. So
we are currently raising funds to help offset the cost (or scholarship) for
athletes and coaches and their families to be able to attend camp. If you would
like more information on a particular FCA camp, check out www.fca.org/Camp
What difference does it make?
Not only do camps have a great
spiritual impact on the coaches and athletes but that experience carries over
to their campuses. Our goal this year is to get 49 coaches and 400 athletes to
camp. Can you imagine that many coaches and athletes hitting the campuses and
playing fields in the fall?
How can I help?
The cost for coaches’ camp is
approximately $1200.00 depending on the size of the family. FCA Leadership camp
is $365.00 and team Camp is around $165.00 per athlete. If you are interested
in helping send and athlete or coach to camp, please contact our office at
